Yve Rice, Owner and Pole & Aerial Instructor
And finally, meet Yve our Studio Founder & Owner and of course, Pole and Aerial Instructor. Yve embarked on her pole and aerial journey in 2006, starting with pole dancing, followed by aerial silks, aerial hoop and pole silks. In 2011 she decided to follow her dream and founded Pole Sensations, teaching pole dance, before opening the studio in 2015.
‘I’ve always loved teaching and after years of working in adult training and education in the tech field, it was a natural progression to move onto teaching something that I was so much more passionate about than technology. Opening a studio was my ultimate goal, as I wanted to offer a safe, supportive space for (predominantly) women to discover the art of pole and aerial and gain confidence through mastering new skills.’
Yve teaches with patience and compassion, breaking down moves and mental barriers to get results - no matter what obstacles a student believes are holding them back. The kindness and grace she shares through her teaching has created a strong sense of community and friendship amongst the students.
‘It’s incredibly fulfilling seeing people grow in self-belief, and body confidence, and become empowered through pole and aerial. Initially, I didn’t fully appreciate the extent of the positive impact pole and aerial can have for people and I’m still blown away by that.’
Whether you’re an introvert or extrovert, or you are training for a competition or just for fun, Yve ensures there really is a place for everyone at Pole Sensations.
Charlie, Pole Instructor
The days are getting longer as we approach the end of January, so let’s shine a light on the wonderful team of instructors we have here at Pole Sensations.
First off let us introduce pole instructor Charlie!
Charlie started pole dancing in 2014 after agreeing to try it out with a friend. Having done gymnastics as a child she fell in love with the acrobatic side of pole dancing and can usually be found somewhere upside down! She trained to teach in 2019, with the aim of helping others get as much enjoyment as she does out of the sport.
A naturally acrobatic pole dancer, she loves any trick that starts from a Brass Monkey, while Handsprings and Ayesha’s are her favourite moves to teach her advanced students.
‘I love teaching pole because I get a lot of pleasure out of seeing people nail tricks they are working on and grow in confidence.’
Sophie, Pole Instructor
Sophie started her pole journey in 2019 and started teaching in the summer of 2022. She currently teaches static pole classes from beginner to Level 4 will soon be expanding her repertoire so watch this space…
An experienced ballet and freestyle teacher, she has dance teaching in her blood. As soon as she started pole, she knew she wanted to share her love for dance with others and couldn’t wait to train as a pole instructor. A lover of all kinds of splitty pole moves and tricks in her own practice, she is a huge fan of teaching students to invert.
‘It's a difficult and key move to master but seeing progress from that first tuck lift to the first full invert is unparalleled! I love seeing that "YES! I got it!" look from my students. A lot of people start to become more confident as they nail the moves and it is lovely to see.’
Natalee, Pole Instructor
Natalee started pole dancing in 2012 to take herself out of her comfort zone to try something new and also with the hope of meeting new people. After leaving her first class feeling motivated and confident she carried on poling for a year or so before leaving to move abroad for a new job.
After a 4 year break and returning back to the UK with a yoga teaching certification under her belt too. Natalee leapt at the opportunity to share her passion and admiration for pole fitness. Pole Sensations is like a close-knit family and their constant support and encouragement is amazing! Natalee loves nailing new moves but loves to see other peoples progression even more so than her own… She can definitely be found hanging upside down in a Fairy - her favourite move!
Lauren, Pole instructor
Lauren first started her pole journey in 2011 and returned in 2018 after a 5-year break, shortly after having a baby. She started training as an instructor in 2021 to help others get the same sense of empowerment she gets from pole dancing and enjoys seeing students surprise themselves when they achieve things they never thought possible.
A lover of strength moves, country music and coffee, she can usually be found flexing her muscles in the sanctuary of her second home at Pole Sensations and currently teaches our Beginner and Spinny pole students.
Nicola, Receptionist
Nicola will be familiar to many of our students as the friendly, welcoming face on reception. She’s also the resident guru when it comes to advice about pole shoes, clothes and grip. If she’s not tried it, it probably doesn’t exist!
